Fife Pride 2025: Still Here. Still Queer.

Fife Pride 2025 wasn’t just a celebration — it was a statement. Against a backdrop of rising anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric, legal setbacks, and political debate, our community came together with clarity, colour, and courage to say: we’re still here, still queer, and not going anywhere.

On Saturday 5th July 2025, the heart of Kirkcaldy was filled once again with music, joy, protest, and pride. From the powerful sounds of the parade led by the Kirkcaldy and District Pipe Band, to standout performances by artists like HORSEShona WhiteJust the Brave, and the return of Fife’s own April Adamás, it was a day that reminded us why Pride still matters — and why Fife Pride continues to be a vital part of the movement for justice and joy.

This year was especially poignant as it marked April Adamás’ final year hosting the Fife Pride main stage. After years of sparkle, sass, and show-stopping one-liners, she took one last fabulous bow — and in true drag tradition, passed the glittery microphone (or was it a diamanté hairbrush?) to Ivy, the Queen of the Kingdom of Fife, who will carry the torch as our new host going forward, bringing high energy, high glam and high camp to the Lang Toun.

As always, the day kicked off with our iconic Pride Parade — gathering from 12:30pm at Fife College’s St. Brycedale Campus. Led by the powerful sounds of the Kirkcaldy and District Pipe Band, we stepped off at 1:00pm, making our way down Kirk Wynd, along the High Street, and up Whytescauseway, before arriving in full rainbow force at Kirkcaldy Town Square to get the party truly started.

From 1:15pm–6:30pm, the marquee in Town Square hosted a packed programme introduced by returning host April Adamás, and her co-host Ivy. The main stage line-up included:

  • HORSE
  • Bev Lyons
  • Girls R Loud
  • Just the Brave
  • Shona White
  • Ann-Marie (Taylor Swift Tribute)
  • Jaxon
  • Off Centre Ceilidh Band
  • Dysart Colliery Silver Band
  • Sons of Chance
  • Drag Performances
  • Plus appearances by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence

This year, we also deepened our commitment to accessibility, worked with Fife Shopmobility to ensure Fife Pride was accessible and welcoming to all — wherever mobility might be a barrier.

The Hive once again hosted our Youth Zone from 12pm–4pm, offering a fun, supportive space for young people with goodies like karaoke, dance classes, arts and crafts, badge making, workouts, and more.

Over 40 organisations joined us at the event stalls, including groups like Equality Network, LGBT Youth Scotland, Transgender Fife, Humanist Society Scotland, AMIS, and more. From support services to rainbow crafts, every stall added something meaningful to the day.

The official Fife Pride After Party returned once again, lighting up The Hive from 7:30pm. Hosted in true fabulous fashion, the night featured headline performances from Claire SweeneyBonnie Banks, and Nicole Faraday, keeping the energy high and the crowd dancing well into the evening. It was the perfect way to end a powerful day — with music, joy, and celebration at the heart of our community.

Not only was the day full of performance, laughter, and connection, but it also bore witness to one of Pride’s most powerful years—anchored in three key moments:

  • A public statement in April 2025 responding to the UK Supreme Court ruling on the definition of sex under the Equality Act
  • A joint IDAHOBIT statement alongside other Prides in May 2025 expressing concern over global anti-LGBTQIA+ policy trends
  • A firm decision in May 2025 to ban political parties from participating at Fife Pride 2025, aligning us with other UK events in maintaining a non-partisan, trans-inclusive space

Together, these actions underscored that Fife Pride is more than a party — it’s a protest, a promise, and a powerful declaration that our community will always show up, speak out, and stand together.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our 2025 sponsors: DiageoFife Council, Stagecoach, Unison Fife, and Wickes — your support made this powerful Pride possible.
